Who We Are
The Society was established in 1979 with the aim of recording and archiving the local history of Henley Beach, Grange and surrounding suburbs.
What We Do
The Society holds four general meetings each year, with engaging guest speakers and presentations on a range of topics. We also publish an annual journal exploring many aspects of local history and conduct many events in the annual SA History Festival. Our collection includes photographs, aural and video recordings, documents, artefacts, family histories and other display materials. We are always interested in adding to our collection and welcome donations of historical material relating to the district. If you have photographs, documents, artefacts, or family stories to share, please contact us.
Where We Are
Our History Room is located in the north-west corner of the Ngutungka Henley Library Complex at 378 Seaview Road, Henley Beach. It is open on Thursday mornings from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Visitors are always welcome.
Membership
Annual subscriptions for membership is currently (2026) $20 for individuals and $30 for family membership. All members receive a copy of our annual Journal as part of their subscription. New members are always welcome.
