We’re proud to announce the City of Charles Sturt Business Recognition Awards will be returning in 2026 to recognise, encourage and showcase the many business leaders we have across our community.
This is a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of local businesses who have navigated unprecedented challenges in recent years. Council acknowledges the energy and vibrancy our businesses bring to our community, and this is an important event to celebrate those achievements.
The Awards are in partnership with Western Business Leaders.
Award Categories:
- Business Legends – Recognising businesses operating within the City of Charles Sturt for more than 25 years, acknowledging longevity, commitment, and contribution to the local economy.
- Women in the West Award - Recognising a woman-led business or business leader demonstrating leadership, resilience, and positive impact.
- Most Improved Business Award - Celebrating a business that has shown significant growth, transformation, or improvement over the past two years.
- Social Impact & Change Maker Award - Recognising a business that gives back to the community through social leadership, innovative solutions, or charitable contribution.
- Sustainability Champion Award - Celebrating businesses that prioritise environmental responsibility, reduce their carbon footprint, and apply sustainable practices.
- Home Grown Award - Recognising the dedication and resilience of home based businesses.
- Best Small Business Award - Recognising excellence in growth, workplace culture, and customer relationships (less than 20 employees).
- Innovative and Outstanding Entrepreneur Award - Celebrating an entrepreneur demonstrating innovation, creativity, and leadership.
- People’s Choice Award - A community-driven award recognising service excellence, nominated by customers or clients through written submissions.

Nomination Process
Award nominations open 2 March 2026 and close 10 April 2026. Please note all categories are closed for submissions. Nominations submitted past 5pm on 10 April will be ineligible.
All nominated and shortlisted businesses will be notified and directly invited to the awards night.
Voting Process (People's Choice Award only)
People's Choice Award voting for nominated businesses will open on 13 April 2026 and close on 4 May 2026. Voting has now officially closed.
Judging Process
Our Business Recognition Awards will be judged on merit by a panel comprised of nominated Staff and Business Mentors. This does not include the People’s Choice Award and Business Legends Awards. Our panel members will carefully analyse any information that is available both online and in the public domain and there will be strict guidelines provided to negate the possibility of influence or bias.
