Library services

Key features, facilities, and services available at Ngutungka West Lakes:

• Library collection: A diverse collection including fiction, non-fiction, magazines, large print, board games, STEM kits, Make-Bake-Decorate Collection, Library of Things, DVDs & CDs, community languages in Croatian, Greek, Polish and Serbian, and much more!
• The Workshop: A flexible space, bookable for activities or events.
• Community Kitchen: A fully functional kitchen. Free tea and coffee, and bookable for events.
• Digital Lab: A bookable space for tech sessions.
• Studio: An exhibition space for artists, innovators, collectors, and curiosities. See our Art in the Community page for more information.
• Meeting rooms: Bookable private spaces with AV setup.
• Toilets and Changing Places: All-accessible toilets, parents' room, and a Changing Places facility to support people with higher needs.
• Kids' reading area: A comfortable and fun spot to sit and read.
• Free Wi-fi and computer access: Laptops available to borrow with your library membership (for in-branch use only).
• Photocopying, printing, scanning, and laminating facilities (EFTPOS only).
• Justice of the Peace services: On Fridays, 10am - 12pm, subject to availability. Please always check our calendar on the day to confirm.
• Merchandise for sale: Bamboo cup, tote bags, earphones (EFTPOS only).
• Home library service for people who are unable to visit the library.
• Lego table: A fun drop-in activity. This table is a launchpad for mini masterpieces!
• Seed Swap: A great resource for green thumbs. This is a community-led initiative run by the Local Gardeners Meetup.
• Battery and mobile recycling collection points.
