The St Clair Precinct has a number of exciting projects coming up which will support our growing sporting clubs and improve community access and safety.
St Clair Recreation Centre Car Park Extension
We’re extending the existing car park to create additional parking spaces for the St Clair community. The extension will:
- Address current parking demand: The existing St Clair Recreation Centre car park regularly experiences congestion during peak periods, reducing convenience and accessibility for visitors.
- Provide additional parking capacity: The extension will provide up to 50 new parking spaces, helping to ease parking pressure and improve access to community facilities.
- Improve traffic flow: A new entry and exit point on St Clair Avenue will help reduce queuing, improve vehicle circulation and enhance connectivity with the surrounding road network.
- Enhance safety: Speed humps within the car park will encourage lower vehicle speeds and improve safety for pedestrians and drivers.
- Discourage through traffic: The design includes traffic-calming measures and ensure the car park functions as intended for visitors.
- Protect trees: Protect and retain established or existing and healthy trees, where possible, with minimal tree removals. We will also undertake additional planting once the car park is complete.
