The City of Charles Sturt Sports Awards will be a biennial event with the next event to be held in May 2027.
Stay tuned for more details.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of community sport, and sporting achievements wouldn’t be possible without the diligent work of the many volunteers – the passionate coaches, officials, administrators, parents and supporters who share their knowledge and skills and give their time generously to advance grassroots sport every week.
We encourage local sporting clubs and associations to help acknowledge and celebrate these outstanding sporting contributions occurring within our community.
These awards provide a tangible way for us and our local community to recognise and commend the remarkable achievements of those people making a significant and genuine difference to sport in our local area.
The 2025 Sports Awards was the fifth running of this event, held on on Thursday evening, 22 May 2025 during National Volunteer Week in the historic Woodville Town Hall, and hosted again by 7 News presenter, Mike Smithson.
Our all-star judging panel for the 2025 rendition was Leah Cassidy (CEO, Sport SA), Danielle Grant-Cross (CEO, SA Sports Medicine Association) and Ben Hook (former Sunday Mail Sports Columnist, two-time Bradman Medallist and Hooked on Sport Podcaster).
