Premier's Reading Challenge

The Charles Sturt Libraries supports readers who are taking part in the Premier's Reading Challenge, which encourages students to read more books, which in turn fosters a love of reading and improves literacy levels.

The Challenge requires students to read 12 books from the beginning of the school year until Friday 6 September 2024.

If you are looking for books from the book list, inspiration or some book recommendations we are here to help.

What books are included?

On the official Premier's Reading Challenge website, there are over 8,000 titles listed!

This includes:

  • Fiction
  • Non-Fiction
  • Illustrated and picture books
  • Poetry and drama
  • Classic, modern and contemporary books
  • Graphic novels.

That's a lot of books and your school library might not have the titles your child likes, but that's where we come in!

How do you find them at the library?

We've made it super easy to locate books included in the Premier's Reading Challenge.

If you're visiting one of our branches, simply browse our collections and look for the below colour coded 'Premier's Reading Challenge' stickers on the spine of our books.
