Renown Park reconstruction
The road reconstruction of Living Streets in Renown Park comprises of:
- reconstructing the road pavement
- concrete kerb and gutter
- new asphalt surfacing
- landscaping and traffic safety initiatives
These efforts aim to create a safer, slower vehicle speed environment, enhance urban greening, and improve the stormwater and urban design for all road users.
Project Background
In late 2019, we began an initial round of community engagement with residents of the four streets identified in our Renown Park Living Streets program: Wright Street, Tait Street, Bishop Street, and Blight Street. Living Streets is designed to reimagine the design of your street and neighborhood to prioritize people, whether as pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, or socializers with family and neighbors. The initial concept plans can be viewed here.
Current Status: We have appointed Camco SA Pty Ltd to undertake the construction of the first stages of the Renown Park Living Streets project. Construction on Wright Street will commence first, followed by Bishop Street, with work scheduled to start in May 2024.
