Charles Sturt Museum

The Charles Sturt Museum is closed due to construction delays of our new Visitor Centre. The Museum will reopen on 16 October 2022.

Construction updates will be posted on the Museum's Facebook page.

The park area of the precinct is still be accessible to the public to read the interpretive heritage trail signs.

You can contact the Museum using the details below for general enquiries, to purchase books and book group tours and events for Spring 2022.

The 'Grange'

The Grange - Charles Sturt MuseumThe Grange was Captain Charles Sturt's residence in South Australia from 1840 to 1853. The house is an example of the Early Colonial style in South Australia and is significant as being the first built in the Grange area known as the 'Reedbeds'. The building houses many of Sturt's original possessions and documents in a collection of national significance. The Gallery features the exhibition ‘Antipodean Dreams’”

Opening Times: Open from Sunday 16 October. Check the Museum website for availability of guided tours.
