Artist opportunities

The City of Charles Sturt has a strong commitment to the development and provision of arts and cultural opportunities that are progressive, innovative and embrace a variety of stimulating approaches, mediums and scales.

In recognising this, the City of Charles Sturt has adopted a Public Art Policy and Guidelines to assist the community to create and install public art within the city.

Throughout the year, the City of Charles Sturt also offers a variety of opportunities in the arts, including, public art commissions, exhibition spaces, film competitions, community and public art projects, Arts & culture grants, events and festivals sponsorships, artist-led workshops and book launches to name a few.

Our Arts Fund supports local artists, arts organisation and residents deliver new creative projects.

Arts Fund supports local Artists and Arts organisations to develop new one off or time limited creative projects that encourage public engagement in the Arts.

Neighbourhood Projects support City of Charles Sturt residents to lead and collaborate to create and deliver small scale projects to improve their street, public spaces and neighbourhood.

Live and Local supports local musicians, live music venues and small businesses to host live music experiences across our City.

Local artists are welcome to exhibit artwork at no cost at our Civic (Woodville) Library, Hindmarsh Library or Ngutungka West Lakes. We have space for artworks and sculptures large or small, indoors or outdoors.

The City of Charles Sturt is committed to delivering a leading and liveable City that is vibrant, friendly and inclusive.

Events provide a mechanism in delivering a leading and liveable City by providing social, physical and economic benefits to its businesses and residents.

Our Events and Festivals Sponsorship is just one way we are supporting those in delivering small scale local events and larger scale state events to benefit our entire community.
