A new home for community connections

Our new library and community centre facility at West Lakes will offer and create a place for community connections, with programs, services and community development opportunities for our residents and the wider local community.

The $20 million state of the art facility will be one of the cornerstones of the main shopping, dining and lifestyle precinct of Commercial & General's WEST development. The City of Charles Sturt building will sit alongside medical, physio, podiatry and other allied health services with a landscape plaza.

The facility will create a vibrant, attractive and modern environment that will enhance the connections and creativity within our community.

The vision is to create a next-generation, integrated community place that is recognised as a centre of excellence for literacy, learning, innovation and discovery.

“The WEST development is a wonderful drawcard, and our new library and community facility will be an important part of this area in the future,” Mayor Angela Evans said.

“We are also working towards providing our community with access to the Football Park oval with the green space being integral to the vibrant and beautiful place being created here.”

The facility will be a key addition to our Charles Sturt Libraries network and our range of community spaces.

We look forward to sharing progress as the build develops.
