Our Stories Our Strengths

18 June 2026

Our Stories, Our Strengths project has now concluded, following its celebration event at the end of May.

Supported by the Office for Ageing Well, through the Age Friendly SA Grants Program, the project brought together older residents to share their lived experiences through a series of short videos featuring Joan, Peter and Lisa.

A key part of the project also included intergenerational storytelling with students from Findon Technical College, creating meaningful conversations between students and local residents and strengthening understanding across generations.

The project highlights connection, resilience and what it means to live well in Charles Sturt, leaving a lasting collection of stories that celebrate community and lived experience.

Watch the videos below to learn more about the project and hear local residents Peter, Joan and Lisa and their stories.

While this chapter of Our Stories, Our Strengths has come to an end, we're excited to continue creating opportunities for connection and storytelling through a number of community events planned for the new year.
