We’re doing good sh*t – literally.
We’re taking a big step towards reducing our environmental pawprint by transitioning all 109 of our dog waste bag dispensers across the City to compostable bags.
Unlike biodegradable options, compostable bags break down completely into plant material, even in landfill, making them a far better choice for the environment.
The "We're doing good sh*t" campaign, highlights the environmental benefits of composting your dog’s waste. You might spot this cheeky message popping up in parks and on signs across our City, proudly featuring some of our local dogs as the furry faces of the campaign.
We’re also exploring the feasibility of installing green bins in selected dog parks, helping make it easier to do the right thing. While there are some operational challenges to work through, we’re committed to finding solutions that support a cleaner, greener future.
In the meantime, we encourage dog owners to take their used compostable bags home and dispose of them in their green bin wherever possible.
Because when it comes to looking after our environment, every little bit of good sh*t counts.
