Following the success of last year's Solar Bulk Buy, we will again be offering our residents the opportunity to be part of our 2025 community renewables program.
Partnering with ShineHub, we are excited to assist Charles Sturt residents to access affordable solar and battery solutions that will save you money and be part of our long term vision to establish a local renewable energy network that powers our community sustainably into the future.
This program is for anyone who wants to:
- add renewables to their home (with no up front cost options available)
- upgrade an old and outdated solar system
- add a battery to their existing system
As a Council we are committed to reducing our carbon emissions and have invested in solar for our facilities and declared a Climate Emergency in 2019.
Our Council endorsed the introduction of a Community Renewables Program on 13 November 2023, following the success of City of Mitcham’s Community Renewables Program, also partnering with ShineHub, Since this time the program has been adopted by councils across Adelaide.
Why get involved?
Purchase your solar and batteries through our 2025 Solar Bulk Buy program to access affordable renewables solutions for your home and save on your power bills. There are no up front costs to get involved.
The next stage will be the establishment of a Virtual Power Plant (VPP), turning it into a community network.
What do I do next?
As part of the program, we will be hosting a community information event (date to be announced soon) for residents where you’ll hear about our vision for this exciting initiative.
The solar experts from ShineHub, our exclusive bulk buy program provider, will be on hand to help you understand the benefits of going solar for your home and help you get started.
Register now to find out more about how you can be involved and be the first to hear about our upcoming information evening.
