Santos Tour Down Under Set for Henley Square

12 November 2025

The City of Charles Sturt is proud to be an official host council of the Santos Tour Down Under for the first time, hosting the Ziptrak® Men’s Stage 3: Henley Beach to Nairne on Friday 23 January 2026.

The event will begin at Henley Square, showcasing our vibrant City and coastline to national and international audiences.

A range of family-friendly activities and community activations will be on offer including additional outdoor dining opportunities to mark the event for residents and visitors alike.

City of Charles Sturt Mayor Angela Evans said it was an exciting announcement for our community.

“Our City is known for its beautiful coastline and our support of sport and recreation for all. We can’t wait to share this world-class event with our community,” she shared.

“The Santos Tour Down Under is the biggest cycling race in the southern hemisphere and this is an opportunity to showcase our wonderful City on a national and international stage.”

Santos Tour Down Under Race Director Stuart O’Grady said Henley Beach was a fantastic addition to the calendar.

“I’m really excited about this stage with two locations that are first-time hosts with Henley Beach and Nairne.

“Henley has been my target for quite a few years, it will be a cracking start location showing off the beauty of our coastline."

The Adelaide Epic Ride will also begin at Henley Square prior to the Men's stage, enabling amateur cyclists to test themselves on the same course as the Santos Tour Down Under peloton.

This year's inaugural Adelaide Epic Ride from Norwood to Uraidla attracted 1,603 riders – of which 38 per cent were from interstate and overseas.

The Santos Tour Down Under will be held between 16-25 January next year.
