Our Stories Our Strengths

1 September 2025

Expressions of Interest for this workshop have now closed.

However, we still want members of our community to contribute to 'Our Stories, Our Strengths' project.

Please share your story with us on our Your Say page, for the chance to receive 1 of 3 $50 Drakes vouchers. Click here to learn more.

Share your story with the next generation.

We are seeking 20 older community members aged 60 and over to take part in a special intergenerational storytelling event. Participants will meet with Year 10 students from Findon Technical College to share life experiences, reflections on ageing, and the wisdom gained over the years. This is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the perspectives of young people, build intergenerational connections, and celebrate the value of ageing well.

Your story matters. Even if you feel you do not have a story, you do.

Every life experience, whether big or small, has the power to inspire curiosity, challenge stereotypes, and highlight the strength that comes from living through different stages of life.

How to get involved:

  • Be willing to be a positive role model for local youth
  • Be available to attend the full-day event on Monday 3 November 2025 (exact times and location in Charles Sturt to be confirmed)
  • Consent to photography, filming and media coverage
  • Enjoy a fully catered event
  • Submit a short personal bio (see below)
