$11,000 Federal Government funding to launch Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover
We’re launching Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover, a new Living Library program that brings people together through storytelling to celebrate diversity and strengthen community connection.
The initiative has received $11,000 in Federal Government funds, secured with the support of Steve Georganas MP to help deliver a meaningful and inclusive program for our community.
Through this program, community members will be able to “borrow” a person instead of a book. They’ll hear lived experiences from people with refugee, asylum seeker, and First Nations backgrounds. Monthly events will feature Q&A discussions, cultural workshops, cooking demonstrations and shared meals, and will align with key cultural dates.
Sometimes the best stories aren’t found on a shelf!
The program is supported by Welcoming Australia, the Multicultural Communities Council of SA (MCCSA), the Australian Refugee Association, and local cultural and Aboriginal organisations.
More information on this new program will be shared soon.
