Hands in the air for all the winners.
School-aged children from across our City, along with their families, teachers and principals, came together to celebrate the winners of the 2024 Mayoral Make A Book Challenge at Woodville Town Hall.
It was another incredible year – with 630 participants, who created 584 original books – across all different genres and formats. Among these, 49 outstanding books were chosen as winners.
Mayor Angela Evans congratulated all the talented students who participated in our annual book-making competition.
“With more than 500 outstanding books – this year’s stories were diverse, creative, and full of imagination. With so many thought-provoking and original stories, our judges found choosing the winners incredibly challenging!” Mayor Evans said.
"Although not everyone can take home a prize, the vision and dedication of all participants truly shined through. And to all our student storytellers out there: keep reading, keep writing, keep illustrating... and remember that your creative imagination is your special gift to the world. Thank you for sharing your stories with us."
