One year ago this week Ngutungka West Lakes opened.
Ngutungka' is Kaurna for 'place of knowledge' and this year has been exactly that. Combining a library and community centre with a sense of discovery, a place of inspiration and connection has been created.
Since the doors opened we have seen attendance increase by 50% and we have loved introducing our community to this wonderful new space, designed to change up what a community hub can be.
Although the building was designed by us, it is you who has shaped it with program ideas, feedback and events.
Artists have hired spaces for exhibitions, rooms have been hired for meetings and local events have taken over our workshop space. We've also introduced new and exciting collections never seen before in our libraries, like the Make, Bake & Decorate collection and Binge Box DVDs.
Also where else can you find a board game to play and STEM kits to borrow?
