The days are getting warmer and with Daylight Saving starting Sunday 1 October 2023, summer is just around the corner 🌞
We've been busy getting beach ready. From this weekend you can:
⛱️ Seek shade under the Henley Square umbrellas (the umbrellas will be put down if high winds are forecast)
🌊 Roll onto the beach using the Henley beach mat (tide allowing). Beach wheelchairs and walkers are now available for free hire.
🗑️See additional foreshore bin collections commencing, with more bins being installed at Henley, Grange and MJ McInerney. (and if a bin is full, take your rubbish with you).
Changes to on/off-leash dog laws take effect on our foreshores in line with Daylight Saving.
This means:
- Dogs must be on-lead (2 metres of less) on the foreshore between 10am and 8pm.
- Outside of those times, dogs may be off lead on the foreshore under effective control. Effective control means near you, within your sight at all times and responsive to your voice commands.
- All year round, dogs must be on lead when walking on any footpath, road or reserve unless signed as an off-lead area.
All dog owners are responsible for their pet’s behaviour in the community.
Together we can all enjoy the warmer weather on our beautiful beaches this summer.
