The Grange Jetty Boardwalk (adjacent to the Jetty) is due for reconstruction as exposure to harsh conditions has weathered the timber.
The timber decking will be replaced with a more durable recycled wood plastic composite product that will require less maintenance. The boardwalk product, sourced from a local supplier, is a mix of wood flour (post-industrial sawmill waste) and HDPE plastic (such as milk bottles and other bottles from kerbside recycling).
Any of the original timber boardwalk decking that can be repurposed will be recycled for use in other projects across our City.
Work to replace the boardwalk will commence on Tuesday 6 April 2021 for a duration of 6 weeks.
Access to the toilets, jetty and beach ramp should not be impacted during the works however please observe any detour signage around the works for your safety.
