Beach Education Patrols

Dog beach patrol InStory

We are excited to be partnering with City of Port Adelaide Enfield to deliver this year's beach education patrols.

These patrols will cover both coastal areas (that's nearly 20km) and play a key role in educating and reminding dog owners about safe and appropriate dog and owner behaviour on our beaches. These patrols will occur across the day (including after hours) to ensure we can effectively cover our busiest times and help make the beach a safe place for everyone to enjoy together this summer.

Our off-leash rules have changed in line with daylight savings. Dogs on the beach must be on a lead, not exceeding 2m in length, on the beach between 10am and 8pm. Dogs can be off-lead at all other times but must be under effective control.

We are so lucky to also now have two hooded plover nesting areas, with a nest at Henley Beach and a chick north of the Torrens River outlet at West Beach. Keep your eye out for signs and please leash your dog around these areas, moving away quietly when you spot the hoodies on the beach.

We look forward to a fantastic summer and, by following a few simple rules, our beaches will be a fun and enjoyable place for everyone to enjoy.
