Local Government Elections
The Local Government Act 1999 prohibits the use of electoral advertising posters made from corflute and plastic materials displayed on a public road (including any structure, fixture or vegetation on a public road) that relate to Local Government Elections. The Guidelines to Display Local Government Election Signs has been developed to aid local government candidates with information on the appropriate display of election signs in the public realm.
State and Federal Elections
The Local Government Association of South Australia has developed the Guidelines and General Approval for Placement or Affixation of Election Signs that relate to State and Federal Elections.
Election material displayed outside of the requirements will be removed, with penalties applicable.
