Joining the Cities Power Partnership

30 October 2019

We are excited to join the Cities Power Partnership to learn from, advocate with and join, a network of councils across Australia who are addressing climate change and provide confidence to our community that we are taking action.

The Cities Power Partnership is Australia’s largest local government climate network, made up over 115 councils from across the country, representing almost 11 million Australians. As part of our partnership, we are committed to developing an action pledge to reduce our emissions in addition to work we are already doing around energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability.

We recognise that climate change is a matter of great significance to our community in the City of Charles Sturt and we acknowledge that we need to act quickly together to achieve the significant emissions cuts required to keep warming to 1.5°C to reduce climate change impacts, some of which we are already experiencing.

Our partnership in this program will complement the work of our western Adelaide climate change adaptation council alliance, AdaptWest.
