A New Home for Community Connections

25 August 2020
West Lakes Community Centre Mayor and CEO

We marked an important milestone on Tuesday in the build of our library and community centre facility at West Lakes with a soil-turning ceremony.

Our new library and community centre facility will offer and create a place for community connections, with programs, services and community development opportunities for our residents and the wider local community.

“The WEST development is a wonderful drawcard, and our new library and community facility will be an important part of this area in the future,” Mayor Angela Evans said.

“We are also working towards providing our community with access to the Football Park oval with the green space being integral to the vibrant and beautiful place being created here.”

Commercial & General Executive Chairman Jamie McClurg described the Charles Street precinct as the heart of the WEST development and a place that will “really bring our community together.”

The $20 million state of the art facility will be one of the cornerstones of the main shopping, dining and lifestyle precinct of the WEST development. The City of Charles Sturt building will sit alongside medical, physio, podiatry and other allied health services with a landscape plaza.

Thank you to those who attended. We look forward to sharing progress news with you as the build develops. You can find the latest updates on our website, or follow us on Facebook.
