UPDATE: The Elected Member Workshop - Football Park | Proposed SANFL CLMP Licence will be held from 6-7pm, Monday 25 March 2024 at the Civic Centre. The public are welcome to observe the discussion but there won't be any public participation.
On Tuesday 12 March, the City of Charles Sturt Council received a report on the initial consultation (conducted November 2023) for the future of Football Park in West Lakes.
Five members of our community also made deputations outlining to Council their concerns regarding the proposed Community Land Management Plan (CLMP) and proposed license to the SANFL to use the ground. As part of the Council discussions, a number of Elected Members shared the concerns of the deputees about the community benefit arising from the SANFL license request, and moved a motion to hold a further workshop to allow for additional exploration of the proposal and consideration of alternate possibilities to accommodate the community’s concerns.
The workshop date is yet to be determined, however it will be open to the public.
