Mayoral Make A Book Is Open

15 March 2024

The Mayoral Make-A-Book Literacy Challenge is open for 2024.

Running since 1979, the Challenge is a popular book making community program for budding young authors and illustrators. It runs each year from February to May and is open to any pre-school or primary school aged child who lives or studies in the City of Charles Sturt council area.

By joining the Mayoral Make-A-Book Literacy Challenge, kids get a taste of what it is like to create their own book. Plus it's a fun, creative way of practicing study skills and processes that they'll eventually be doing at higher levels in school.

Book entries can be a story or graphic novel, English or multilingual, a physical book or digital, created by one child, a group or school.

Final deadlines for submissions is 31 May 2024, with the Mayoral Make-A-Book Ceremony held 6 September at Woodville Town Hall.
