Words Grow Minds at Charles Sturt Libraries

Words Grow Minds in Bubble Writing

Every time you talk, read, play and sing with your baby and young child – you are helping their minds grow.

That is the key message of the Words Grow Minds campaign – helping parents and caregivers to make sure their young ones thrive in their early years.

Below are some ways to get involved in the Words Grow Minds at Charles Sturt Libraries:

Join us for our popular Pre-school programs

  • These are fun, interactive group sessions where we read, talk, sing and play together!
  • We offer regular Babytime, Toddlertime, Storytime and Mini Movers sessions across our branches – along with special events. Follow our Words Grow Minds Eventbrite collection to find programs and stay up to date!

Use your free library membership to access resources

  • Through your Charles Sturt Libraries membership - you can access children’s books, toys, DVD’s, audiobooks, jigsaw puzzles and more. You also have state-wide library access through the One Card Network. Sign up here to access.
  • You can also access EraBooks Online – an interactive literacy app for children, with stories, games and activities.
  • Check out our reading mascot, Lizzie the Literacy Lizard’s page – where you can play along with her videos and check out her book list of library recommendations!
