Some things are just too good to throw away.

Your old furniture, toys and equipment might be useful to someone else.

Hold a garage sale. It’s almost like giving things away, but you get to meet and chat with your neighbours! Charging is optional, but haggling over price can be part of the fun.

Ring up an op shop. Tell them what you have and ask if they're interested in receiving it. Some organisations will come out to collect it from your home. Others have drop-off locations at shops or outlets.

Advertise it to give away on Gumtree or Freecycle. Take a photo and post your ad for free. Usually you'll get a quick response and can arrange for your item to be collected.

Advertise it to give away on Facebook. Try this local western suburbs buy, swap and sell group.

'Give where you live' - Discover your local 'Buy Nothing' project group in Charles Sturt where you can donate unwanted items.
