E-scooter Trial Extended

31 October 2022
E-Scooter Instory

The Minister for Transport has approved the e-scooter trial extension until 31 October 2023. We are currently working with providers to continue the service in 2023.

The trial enables tourists and locals to pick up an e-scooter at various locations along the coast from West Beach to Semaphore Park. You can enjoy our beautiful coastline by riding our coastal path on the e-scooters as a fun, easy to access and environmentally friendly alternative to driving.

The providers  will operate e-scooters along the foreshore with hours of operation from 6am to 6pm (until to 9pm during daylight savings periods), seven days a week.

Designated parking areas, where users must end their journey, and go-slow zones have been identified, with scooters automatically restricted to 10km/hr in these areas. All other areas will have a speed restriction of 15km/hr.

E-scooters provide a clean, safe and efficient personal transport option and are a great way to get out and explore our wonderful coastal areas.

The scooters feature a range of cutting-edge anti-viral measures introduced to keep them clean and to safeguard riders. Despite the reduced COVID-19 risks in South Australia currently, both scooter providers have teams on hand to ensure the safety of riders and staff.
