The Adaptability Movement

THE ADAPTABILITY MOVEMENT

Dan and Ben shared with us some of their business learnings and experience from participating in our Business Support Program.

The Adaptability Movement mentor and guide teams and organisations to enhance well-being and optimise performance.

The pair have accessed grant funding for the past two years to strategically grow their business online.

The Journey

The Adaptability Movement business journey began five years ago, as ‘Nexa Sports Performance’, focusing on physical and holistic strength and conditioning. Their offering adapted to blend in mental wellbeing over time, which completely changed the direction of their business during the pandemic.

Ben and Dan work cohesively together, each playing to their strengths, which has helped their business evolve over time.

Advice and Learnings

We asked Dan and Ben what advice they have for other business owners.

“We think the biggest thing we have done as businesses is always continue to not just do things the way that they've always been done, because that's the way you've always done.”

“Be really clear on where you want to go - narrow your focus and stick in that lane rather than trying to do everything for everyone. Define what you do and do that one thing, really well rather than pretending something.”

“Challenge norms and ideas norms - if you're just going to do it the way everyone else has done it, you'd be deeply dissatisfied. Do things in a way that feels authentic to you.”

Why Charles Sturt?

The Adaptability Movement utilised the Business Support Program to get strategic podcast assistance from our Business Advisor, Nikki Voxx of Quintessential Being.

In the first year Dan and Ben sought advice from our Business Advisor, Steve Davis of Talked about Marketing, to strategise their business language branding and communication.

“We worked with Nikki to adapt and refine our podcast strategy and she’s been great."

"She initially helped us with strategy around who we're targeting, why we're doing it, and from there provided guidance about software, resources, and sponsorships.”

Vox Pops

Their business advisor, Nikki Vox, had some wonderful words to say about working with them.

“It was so great to work with some local business owners to get their podcast launched to attract a wider audience to their amazing business!”

“Ben and Dan are so knowledgeable in team dynamics and leadership, so it is exciting to see what they'll achieve moving forward.”
