Twin Social

We have loved tapping into the experience and knowledge of our business advisors, who we have been working with very closely during this time and with the rollout of our Economic Support and Stimulus Package Grants.

One major area of need for businesses at this time has been their digital and online presence, and we selected advisors which had areas of both common and differing focus and experience to provide our businesses with the best advice for their business.

Dylan and Jake Pinksterboer of Twin Social shared their thoughts and expertise on how businesses can leverage social media.

How long have you been in the digital space and what made you interested in this area?

TwinSocial has been around since January 2019, with Dylan and Jake growing up in the growing digital era. We always wanted to be in the business of people, as we absolutely love helping others and want to create a business that succeeds in the light of others. Marketing was a natural attraction for us as it combined what we were passionate about with a business structure that has led to the successful business it is today. The biggest interest now being in this industry for 4 years is the forever growing space that it is, it is so important how you are as a person as everything in this space is reactive, constantly evolving and requires continuous learning on a business and skill level.

There are a lot of different types of digital agencies - specialising in a variety of things. Where do you see your agency sitting in this ecosystem, and what are your areas of specialty?

We are in the area of business growth and specialise in creating and managing digital systems that compound over time like layers on a cake. Our areas of expertise range from data & web development to content creation and marketing campaigns. If we were to specialise in an area it would definitely be hospitality as that’s an area we are the most experienced in.

What are the main issues you see coming up time and time again for your business clients in the digital space?

Medium and small business owners especially entrust their marketing either to themselves, a family member or a staff member, expecting that to be ‘social media marketing’ when really they don’t know the first thing about it. This is not a negative thing, but marketers, like chefs, suppliers etc have their own skills and expertise they bring to the table - you wouldn’t want a barista in the kitchen if you aren't a chef if that makes sense!

Another main issue is competition, everyone’s looking at what everyone else is doing and it creates a sea of cookie cutter attitude when it comes to products, specials and offers which makes a marketing campaign challenging - when a client looks what the next person is doing and try to replicate it in their own way, this doesn’t create a difference in content or engagement online - the one thing marketers are looking to achieve!

And the last main issue is honestly patience! A successful brand or page doesn't happen overnight. Like anything it takes a plan, consistency and execution over a solid period of time to achieve a realistic goal. Social media is absolutely amazing for business growth, it's not like a switch though.

One important factor in business is knowing who a good fit for your business is - those people who you work best with and who you can help the most. Who do you feel your agency is able to work best with and help the most?

We work best with business owners who are active and understanding the direction / vision of their business and need a strong team to help them paint this. Business owners that are looking to grow and have the time to put in to work with us will see the best benefit from our services and customer service.

However, if you are a startup business - we also can help with the vision and direction of your business as long as you know the basics of your product or service and where you want it to go.

What do you see as the biggest upcoming opportunities in the digital space?

There is honestly endless opportunity to grow your business and make money online, everything nowadays is digital - all you have to do is figure out what you want from it! Definitely branding, community building, content creation and Web3 are some current, early opportunities happening right now in the space! The ability to start and grow a business has never been so accessible, especially when it comes to working with the right agency!

If there was one key message you wanted to give business owners, what would that be?

No matter what business you have, either be the marketer you know your business needs or hire somebody that is, that is how you will get the best results every year for your business. You will never get to your fullest as a business owner if you do not have a reliable team around you that specialise in different areas of your business.

About Twin Social

Founders, Jake and Dylan Pinksterboer, go way back – all the way back to the womb, in fact. Fast forward a couple of decades, it’s 2018, and Twin Socials was just a twinkle in Dylan’s eye. Twin Socials was born after Dylan worked in the digital marketing industry and identified a gap in the market connecting time-poor business owners with the rising social media sphere.

Twin Social is a boutique advertising agency located in Adelaide, servicing clients locally, nationally and internationally in the digital media space.

Two minds are better than one, and that’s why Jake came on board as a lead project manager, assisting with client campaigns and content strategies. As the business grew from 2 team members to 4 which introduced a high end, visual media team, Twin Socials became a one stop shop.

Since then, the rest is history. Twin Social has successfully worked with over 200 clients since its humble beginnings in 2019.

Their services include:

  • Digital Media Packages
  • Social Media Management
  • Web Development
  • Photography Services
  • Videography Services
  • Facebook Ads Management
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • Google Ads Management
  • App Development
  • Graphic Design
