We are excited to share that we have partnered with Active Inclusion (AI) to support and assist local sporting clubs and volunteers through a Sporting Club Professional Development program.
The program will help strengthen club offerings and create welcoming environments to encourage greater participation, to meet the increasing needs of a wider and more diverse community.
The partnership also ties in with our commitment to make our city inclusive and accessible for all.
City of Charles Sturt Recreation and Sport officer, Scott Edgecombe said “COVID-19 has had a significant impact on sport throughout the state this year, and we are proud of the resilience, sense of community and continued commitment that our local sporting clubs have shown during such a trying time”.
“Sport can be a great social connecter to drive social inclusion and support physical, social and mental wellbeing for individuals to engage in the wider community”, said Active Inclusion General Manager Katrina Ranford.
“And we are excited to work with the team at Charles Sturt to provide educational and personal development opportunities for club volunteers, to create and increase opportunities for all people to participate in local sport on and off the field”.
If you are a sporting club in our city, we’d love to hear from you. Completing this short survey will ensure that the training meets the needs of your club.
