Woodville Road – Night Asphalt Works
24 September-5 October 2023
Commencing 24 September until approximately 5 October we will be undertaking night works along Woodville Road (between Port Road and the railway line). The works will include profiling of the road, removing old road surface and relaying new asphalt. There will be some traffic and parking impacts along Woodville Road, and in attending businesses along this precinct including the Civic Centre during this time.
Timing of works
- Sunday 24 September to Thursday 5 October, 7pm to 6am.
Works are subject to weather and other circumstances that may arise.
Pedestrian and Traffic Movement
- NO RIGHT TURNS from side roads into/out of Woodville Road.
- Pedestrian access will remain in place. Please utilise the activated crossings when using Woodville Road for your own safety.
- At times some noise and vibration disturbance may be expected (to those that live in close proximity to the road). Impacts to local residents and businesses will be managed as best as possible.
Parking
There will be NO PARKING at all times on Woodville Road (between Port Road and the railway line) for the duration of the asphalt works. If you need to attend a local business, please refer to the parking map on the best location to park for your visit.
The extent of this stage of works will include profiling of the road, removing of old road surface and laying of new asphalt.
Please consider your commute options when using Woodville Road. See our frequently asked questions below for further information or visit our parking map or traffic management map.
Port Road/Woodville Road Intersection – Pedestrian Crossing Works
24 September-18 December 2023
Commencing Sunday 24 September until approximately Monday 18 December 2023 during day and night, we will undertake works at the Port Road/Woodville Road intersection to upgrade the pedestrian crossing, along with landscaping and paving. Works are subject to weather and other circumstances that may arise.
Timing of works
- Sunday 24 September to Monday 18 December, 7pm to 6am and 7am to 4pm (day works Monday to Friday)
Works are subject to weather and other circumstances that may arise.
Pedestrian and Traffic Movement
- Lane closures will apply during this time.
- Signage will be in place to divert pedestrians. Please follow all directions and utilise activated crossings for your own safety.
Night asphalt works are expected to take up to 2 weeks, this is the final stage of works for Stage 1 - Woodville Road (Port Road to Railway line). Any further works will be to tidy up the site.
Pedestrian crossing works, which is part of the Stage 3 - Port Road Median works, will take 3 months.
Timing of works are subject to weather and other circumstances that may arise.
Check out our parking map on where best to park for your visit. Consider your access to this location before your visit as you will be unable to turn across Woodville Road during the scheduled work times.
If using Woodville Road as a commuter road, we recommend avoiding it during this time given the road will be down to a single lane in each direction and traffic may be slow through this section. We recommend using Cheltenham Parade and/or David Terrace as a more efficient route for the duration of this stage of works.
We encourage you to download the SitePodium app on your smart device, follow the project and enable notifications. This will be the go-to place for all traffic updates and any changes to the construction program.
