The main idea of the Nazareth Catholic College OSHC art project is to feel and see grace in our lives more often if we look for it and notice it. Living a life of gratitude is waking up and feeling thankful for every day.
Thanking God for all of the blessings in our lives and choosing to respond with gratitude, when experiencing kindness from others.
Our children are learning and practising being grateful for the challenges they face in daily life as these challenges help them to grow, understand, soften their heart, and also give them strength.
By painting the pictures of ‘Thank you’ to different occupational people of the community, our children are appreciating the different benefits and benefactors in their lives and building a sense of community.
This art project has given an opportunity to our children to feel more socially competent and connected, be more satisfied with community and society, have better mental health and emotional well-being, and be more motivate in their future.
We sincerely hoped that, as the children begun to practice gratitude, through their artworks, they realised the value of altruistic choices and recognise the good intentions of others, helping them to feel supported in reaching for the better.
