Temporary Parking / Parking Exemption

Council has limited authority to grant exemptions for parking under Part 12 of the Australian Road Rules. This can temporarily assist customers who may experience difficulty due to parking restrictions. Some examples of where a temporary parking permit exemption may be suitable are:

  • building site for trade vehicles where off-street parking is not available
  • removalist truck where off-street parking is not available

Note: Any activity which results in closure or partial closure of the footpath or road, such as a concrete pour is best handled through Public Space Occupation Application.

Residents of Woodville West and Woodville South may also be eligible for parking exemptions to the time zones that have been installed around the surrounding streets of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).

This is similar for residents of Henley Beach who may be affected by the seasonal restrictions that are installed during day light savings, limiting parking from 1am to 5am.
