Immunisation Dec 2009 046Due to an increase in demand, waiting times at some clinics may increase. We appreciate your patience.

Child and adolescent scheduled vaccines are available free through all Council clinics. Other vaccines are available to the public at a cost.

Vaccines outside the free list are available to be purchased at most clinics please ring 84081370 for availability of stock.

Please note our Immunisation service is unable to provide travel vaccines as per the 2013 legislation. If you require travel vaccines please contact your doctor or travel vaccine service.

The St Clair Immunisation Clinic on Woodville Road has now moved to the all new St Clair Recreation Centre.

This dedicated clinic will provide a brand new immunisation space, increased safe parking options, and access to the Centre's cafe.

Monday (only every second and fourth Monday of the month) 10am - 12.30pm
Tuesday 10am - 12.30pm (Except for public holidays)
Thursday (only every first and third Thursday of the month) 4.30pm -7pm
Friday 10am - 12.30pm (Except for public holidays)

Limited pre-booked appointments available for Monday clinics only – in addition to normal drop in format. All other clinics remain drop in. Please contact the clinic on 8408 1370 for further information and bookings.

You MUST bring your Blue Book and Medicare Card to every visit to ensure you are eligible for scheduled vaccines.

Meningococcal - Accordion

The City of Charles Sturt will be providing both the State funded Meningococcal B Programs and the Commonwealth funded Meningococcal ACWY programs.

All Year 10 students will be offered Meningococcal B and Meningococcal ACWY.

All Year 11 students will be offered Meningococcal B.

Ages older than school visits may attend any of our clinics. No booking is required. Please see above for a link to our 2019 clinic calendar.

These age groups have been chosen because they are at increased risk of developing Meningococcal disease.

Program vaccines

Bexsero® vaccine will be used in the childhood program.

Bexsero® will be used for the School Immunisation Program and under 21 year old catch up programs.

Until this program begins, please visit your GP to access the Meningococcal B vaccine at cost.

Meningococcal B Herd Immunity Study - accordion

Meningococcal B Herd Immunity Study

In 2019, there will be opportunities for individuals to take part in the study by having a throat swab taken. Throat swabs will be collected from February 2019 onwards as part of the School Leaver study. To be eligible for this study, individuals must have been enrolled as a Year 12 student in a South Australian School in 2018 and be between the ages of 17-25 years old.

The City of Charles Sturt Immunisation Clinic is providing opportunities to have your throat swab taken. Please ring Customer Contact to book on 8408 1111.

Immunisation Dec 2009 008Assessment of vaccination histories and scheduling of appropriate catch up vaccinations for this program will be attended within 10 business days of provision of all required information to our Immunisation Clinic. This information may be brought in to our Clinic during opening times.

Please bring all available written records of previous vaccinations for your child. This information will  be copied and assessed. We will then contact you to advise which vaccines are required and propose a date for clinic attendance.
