Christmas Lights Display - Adam Street, Hindmarsh

The Christmas Light Display is a popular Community Event, attracting thousands of visitors each year from all over the state.  The area is located at Adams Street Reserve in Hindmarsh and will be running from 3 December 2018 to 2 January 2019 (subject to change).

The City of Charles Sturt is calling for Expression of interest from vendors wishing to either supply and manage the entire entertainment and food areas, or interest from individual vendors wishing to be considered for the supply of amusement rides, entertainment or food/refreshments trucks for this year’s Riverbank Christmas Lights Display.

All expressions must agree to the conditions specified by Council (please see attached) and include all relevant information requested. The permit will be issued for the purpose of supplying amusement rides, entertainment and/or food for the duration of the Christmas lights display 2018/2019 season.

Management of the whole area applicants should include a proposed fee that they are prepared to pay to Council in order to acquire a permit.

Management of the whole area must submit the following:

  • Public Liability Insurance for your organisation;
  • Site plan showing placements of and approximate size of structures;
  • An extensive Risk Management plan;
  • SafeWork SA engineer report and insurance;
  • Acknowledge they will be responsible to supply one single and one disabled toilet on site (at their own cost) and will be responsible of the cleaning & up keeping of these; and
  • Acknowledge they will be responsible to ensure safety fence is in kept in place.

Individual permit applicants please note a fee of $1500 a week will be charged to successful applicants to acquire a permit to place an individual ride/food stall on site. Payment would be required prior to the commencement date.

Individual Applicants must submit the following:

  • Commercial Activities Application;
  • Public Liability Insurance;
  • Risk Management Plan;
  • SafeWork SA engineer report and insurance (if applicable); and
  • Request locations in order of preference A to D on map provided.
