Get Reading!
Get Reading! is Australia's largest annual celebration of books and reading, which encourages all Australians to pick up a book, put up their feet and get reading!
Now in its twelfth year, Get Reading! is a nationwide campaign focused on inspiring more Australians to discover or rediscover the pleasure of reading. It includes a national author touring program designed to inspire Australians to pick up a book, all year-round!
The Charles Sturt Library Service, in partnership with Get Reading! will host an exciting author program throughout 2012.
Already we have had a visit from Award-winning author Katherine Howell, who became Charles Sturt's first 'Get Reading! Guaranteed: A Book You Can't Put Down' author for 2012 when she visited Hindmarsh Library in February. Katherine's new fast-paced thriller, Silent Fear, featuring Detective Ella Marconi is a must read as are the other books in the Get Reading campaign.
The City of Charles Sturt Libraries are supporting the National Year of Reading 2012, linking together all the great events and programs we normally run and focusing on reading as a source of fun and relaxation.
