Heart Foundation Walking is Australia's largest network of free community-based walking groups, led by volunteer Walk Organisers.
The aim of Heart Foundation Walking groups is to make regular physical activity enjoyable and easy, especially for people who are not used to being active. Walking groups can be any size, and walk at various times, days, lengths and levels of difficulty. Everyone is encouraged to walk at their own pace.
The City Of Charles Sturt has joined in partnership with Heart Foundation Walking and currently has a number of walking groups led by local residents who are volunteers. Below is a list of the walking groups currently participating in this exciting program:
Athol Park Strollers (Athol Park Community Centre)
Brompton Walkie Talkies (Ian George Court)
Nature Lovers - Hills walks (monthly)
People with Pushers - Henley Beach Library
Henley Beach Sea Side Striders - Henley Beach Library
Winners - Findon (Findon Community Centre)
If you would like to find out more information on any of these groups and start walking please contact, Lisa Will, Sport and Recreation Project Officer on 8408 1117.
