The City of Charles Sturt has ongoing plans for improving roads, footpaths and drains throughout the City. We are currently preparing to reconstruct Kingston Avenue, Royal Park in the 2013/14 financial year.

East Street Brompton (from Fifth St to Torrens Road) is being considered for a road upgrade in the 2012/13 financial year.

Coast Park - Update - Report and final designs of Coast Park for the Semaphore Park - Recreation Parade to Third Avenue; and Henley Beach - Grange Road to Marlborough Street sections, will be presented to Council meeting on .Monday 26 November 2012.

On Monday 10 December 2012 the Draft Community Plan was endorsed by Council. The new Community Plan will be launched early in the new year - stay tuned. We would like to extend a huge thank you to those community members who participated in this consultation and had their say!

The City of Charles Sturt recently undertook consultation to seek community feedback on the proposed location for a 'Small Dog Park' to be constructed on Josiah Mitton reserve at Wood Avenue, Brompton or Brompton Green Reserve at Hawker Street.

A new road is required to allow alternative access for residents in the St Clair development. St Clair Avenue is the new road which will connect the St Clair development on the former Actil and Cheltenham Racecourse sites to Woodville Road.

The Development Application for the Telecommunications Tower at Cheltenham is currently out for public notification and comment.

Latest update on Henley South Coast Park - Stage 2 - Ozone Street to Henley Beach Road

Charles Sturt recently held a community discussion regarding the development of Coast Park in Henley Beach.

Notice is hereby given, that pursuant to the provisions of Section 197 of the Local Government Act 1999 and Council's Public Consultation Policy, the Council has prepared a draft Management Plan (Amendment) for Community Land.

Consultation for this project was conducted in March 2012. Council are currently analysing the results received from the Community. Pennington Gardens Reserve was developed in 1993 by the South Australian Housing Trust on the site of the former Pennington Migrant Hostel and was dedicated to the many people who came to make a new life in South Australia.

Following the consultation, Council resolved to rename lot 83 of John Hindmarsh Reserve to 'Rowley Park'.

As part of the City of Charles Sturt's 2011/12 budget, an allocation of funds has been identified to explore the best location(s) to establish both a Skate Park and BMX facility within the Hindmarsh Ward. Consultation for this project took place in March 2012, Council are currently collating and analysing feedback from the Community.

The recent trial of changes to traffic controls and parking controls along Queen Street and Elizabeth Street, Croydon, has concluded and we are now seeking feedback from local residents and businesses about the trial and options moving forward.

Notice of Construction - The final design for the latest section of the Coast Park Path has been completed. This section extends from just south of the Grange Jetty Precinct along the Esplanade, to just north of Grange Road, Grange.

In 2008/09, Council wrote to the residents of Pennington seeking comments relating to an upgrade of Windsor Reserve, Pennington. The feedback received highlighted many opportunities and suggestions, which have been incorporated into the attached Draft Master Plan.
