Work on Council Property

To avoid legal implications working on Council land requires a permit, this permit must be completed, returned to Council for assessment and approved before any work takes place.

Permit applications will be assessed against the verge development/landscaping guidelines.

What are the costs?

There are no costs for this permit.

What do you need to know?

You will need to supply the following information with your application:

  • Description of all materials proposed
  • Plant names/species
  • Diagram of landscaping if on a larger scale

Consideration will be given to:

  • Vehicle access
  • Wheelie bin placement

Completed Landscaping becomes the responsibility of the property owner to maintain thereafter. Failure to maintain will see Council remove landscaping with associated costs being forwarded to the property owner.

Applications will be considered within ten (10) business days from the date that all required information has been lodged with the Council. 

What happens next?

You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application.

The assessment process will occur within ten (10) business days and will include:

  • Confirmation of your details and required documentation supporting your application
  • Investigation of your proposed activity

On approval, you will be provided with a letter of approval & your permit confirming the approved activity and the conditions. 

At completion of all works Council will inspect the site to see if all conditions of the permit have complied.

Completion photos will also be taken for Council records.
