A ‘Digital Hub’ is a community-based computer training and internet access point containing a number of internet ready computers.
The City of Charles Sturt Digital Hub at the Civic Centre in Woodville was officially launched on 23rd May 2013 and provides a central location for the community to participate in digital literacy courses and explore the technology in the awareness zone.
The Awareness Zone is open to the public during Library hours and has 3 x high speed PC’s, an Apple Mac for gaming and digital media, an Alienware computer for gaming, a Microsoft Surface for a truly unique interactive technology experience and a Samsung Smart TV with an Xbox Kinect to play! All computers have Minecraft and various links to children’s learning activities and games.
This Zone also showcases a 3D printer. The printer uses heated plastics to build shapes from 3 dimensional designs. From a learning perspective, students can prototype items, test theories and create jewellery all from their home PC.
One on one computing/iPad/internet – spend 45 minutes with one of our tech savvy trainers to learn a topic of your choice.
Group sessions run for approximately 1.5 hours. We provide group sessions on Facebook, cyber safety, iPad, eBay, Gumtree, computer basics, intermediate computing and much more.
Technology Drop in Session is designed to assist the community with any issues they may be experiencing with their technology and applications. There are no bookings required. Please check the calendar for session times as they change from month to month.
